This summer has been filled with incredible events. After our successful trunk show in May I attended the 30th retrospective Surface Design Association Conference (http://www.surfacedesign.org/) in Kansas City. Several lectures and symposiums were inspirational. Melissa Leventon’s Artwear: Fashion and Anti-Fashion and Sue Hammond West’s Art as Quiet (www.suehammondwest.com) were of special interest to me.
A select few of my friends and I were invited to a private opening of the new wing of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (http://www.nelson-atkins.org/) which was enlightening. We visited Asiatica design studio/store (http://www.asiaticakc.com/) where I was most impressed.
As we approach the fall season I am busy creating special dresses for several weddings.
